Freedom Realty and Owner/Broker, Sarah Liska, are offering this college scholarship award towards the post-secondary education of a talented, ambitious student in Carroll County!

Sarah Liska has established various charitable endeavors since the conception of Freedom Realty, and this Scholarship fund is perhaps her proudest. Having taken an unconventional path to success herself, she strongly believes in opening doors for others. The “Freedom to Believe” Scholarship is a tribute to the community in which Freedom Realty conducts business, as well as an instrument to promote the efforts and goals of one ambitious student.

To qualify, you must be currently attending your senior year of high school or possess a G.E.D high school diploma and reside in Maryland. There is no restriction based on grades, test scores or degree choice. The selection process will be handled by the Carroll Foundation of Carroll County Board.

You will be required to complete the attached application form and prepare a short essay demonstrating your abilities, interests, and goals for consideration:

Essay – Written Paper that describes achievements, academic and non-academic goals, future career interests, obstacles that were overcome, and hardships or difficulties that motivate you to succeed.

If it applies, a demonstration of a concept, idea, or prototype (using graphic media) such as development of website, video game, prototype model or drawing of an ‘invention’, art images, recording of musical or athletic ability, or any other hands-on/visual endeavors that speak for themselves may be included.

The funds can only be used towards tuition and/or required books/material for registered courses in a College or University. The administration of the FUND shall be as follows:

The recipient(s) shall be selected by the Donors or their designee, and approved by the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Carroll County. Donors reserve the right to make the award presentation
All income in the Fund shall be used for fund purposes.
The money shall be transmitted by the Community Foundation of Carroll County directly to the desired college or university and applied directly to the student’s tuition and books. The monies shall not be remitted to the FUND winner.
